Okay, a little personal update. What’s it been like? Hmm.. started riding horses again this year. The All Stars are gonna open for Dwight at a HUGE place, (the Wiltern) Um, I’ve been kind of out of the “music” mode, work and other personal stuff has been more fun. But, it’s time to come back to it.. thank God the universe won’t give up on me, long after I give up on myself.. lol Anyway, it’s been fun, and productive to “lag” a bit, but it feels like time to come back… I guess this is more of a rant than news but it’s news to me… love you all.

Hey, Mama Shi has an article in the LA Times today… (Thursday the 5th) if you’re in LA, pick up a copy and look in the weekend Calendar section. It mentions The Snakehandlers, (which is nice) and just basically tells the world how awesome Ms. Shilah truly is. Go check it out online at the link below:

Well it’s been a long strange trip, but… Sweethearts Of The Rodeo is 5 years old… whoa.. It only took us forever, but the LA Weekly has made us a pick… and to be honest, I’m grateful to Mr. Whiteside (and Lina Lecaro) for putting us in there. Here’s what they had to say, and if you can, come out next Wed. (Dec. 7th) and celebrate with us.

Sweethearts of the Rodeo All-Star Jam at Molly Malone’s
In the seemingly eternal process of confirming that old show-biz cliché — “death is the best career move” — this once-a-month hoedown takes ceaseless pleasure in celebrating the legacy of the late country-rock innovator Gram Parsons, and with five years of shows under their collective oversize belt buckle, the Sin City boys are doubtless set to fire up their hottest and most eager musical guns. Happily, this often involves both first-rate local talent and unannounced drop-in guests of the highest star power. Frequent visitors have included the powerhouse singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams, and this big five brawl is certain to feature some equally dazzling surprises. (Jonny Whiteside)

thanks… hatchet, buried.

Okay, so I’m lame and busy and I haven’t updated much lately.. I have to learn how to live and also document it, in case anyone cares, (and it does seem that some of you care.) so I’m workin’ on it…

I was on a reality show last night and I blogged about it on myspace, and, as I’m trying to do, reposted it on the rants page…

All sorts of big and fun news coming soon.. I promise.. damnit. lol

Yo.. i’m off to Arkansas… then on to Nashville.. we’re playing the Exit Inn Friday the 9th of Sept… Sin City All Stars host our annual Nashville AMA party… come see us… peace!

What would The Snakehandlers look like on South Park? Hmm…. click this and see…

Well, Dwight Yoakam’s a pretty damn cool guy… We already knew that, but… Go check out his new bio.. (right here) particularly the 2nd paragraph. He mentions the Sin City crew and says some pretty nice things, like us being the “next incarnation of California Country Rock”.. pretty cool.
