The triumphant return of The Snakehandlers after 7 months...
The SnakehandlersThis Saturday, the 1st @ Spaceland. Dig it, us (midnight) , Zachariah (11pm) and Gattis (10pm) doin' it all night. And it's friggin' FREE, if you're broke, or just cheap. There'll be a tip jar, to get us all gas money so do what you can. More to follow, including set times and a map link... click the image to see what EZ Pickens' hooked up for us.

Yeah, it's late, yeah you're lame if you can't stay up on a Saturday night.. just come out and I'll bet you stay for the whole thing...

I'm all about givin' it up to my homies. (oh sure, I talk like a rapper, didn't you know?) There's one person who "gets" that concept at a high level. She's put together a group of folks that maybe aren't "mainstream" but will seriously blow you away. I get to hang out with them sometimes and play too. Tonya Watts does a songwriter night called "It Came From Nashville" @ Genghis Cohen. If you've never seen it, go to the site. It's amazing. The songs and musicianship consistently blow me away. It's weird, they all look like models and are down to earth and talented writers. It's like some crazy "bizarro" universe where the good guys win. I love them all. No ego's, no BS, nothin' but love and music... don't you wish life could be like that?

Thanks to all of you who came out and those who watched the webcast of the Kulak's show! It was too fun to play again and to get the Snakehandlers together in a low-key setting. Here's some video for you to check out, if you missed it. The .mov file will play on macs and the .wmv will play on either if you have the Windows Media Player. Be warned, they will take a looong time to download so beware unless you're on a cable modem or DSL. I'll be setting up another show soon, so be sure and catch this one if you can. For those of you who asked, I'm getting better.. LOL Still a little sick, but my voice is fine, thanks.

(if you can't see the .wmv file, just wait, it takes like 3 minutes to download and the page will look blank)

Okay, a new show this next week! April 20th (tuesday) at Kulak's Woodshed. (go check the link.) The best news for those of you out of state.. you can watch the webcast. I'm on from 8pm-10pm (those in LA, don't be late!) I'm playin' acoustic with a ton of friends. Dusty, Austin Hanks, Grey Delisle and Murry (old 97's), and maybe a couple more... you know the deal. I'm doing half my songs and half covers of songs by friends like Garrison Starr, Gattis, Austin, Dusty, Annie Celsi and a few more. Come see it. It's free, but donations to keep Kulak's going are always welcome.

So.. Zachariah ruled it, as usual last Friday. Bobby Joyner is in his band. Which is cool because Bobby's probably a better singer than all of us, but in Z's band he plays harp and sings backup. The musicians in our posse rule... Brothers.

Now I know it's Sweethearts week and all. (this Wed. the 7th!! 9PM with The Cheatin' Kind!!) But I need to hip you all to a girly show of a whole 'nother kind. Tuesday @ The Hotel Cafe, 8PM sharp, don't be late. Susan Marshall and Kristin Mooney from the the Sin City posse are playin' and it's a pretty damn strong night for girl singers. You know me, I hate girl singers as a rule, so when I say it's on... it's on... Go.
